Teixeira A-OK with batting third in lineup
Joe Girardi plans to bat Mark Teixeira third and Alex Rodriguez fourth this season, he said yesterday.
Teixeira had said he would be happy to be in either spot, and would take his cue from Girardi and Rodriguez. Once he learned he would be hitting third, he said: "I've always loved batting third. And now I'll have the best player in the game hitting behind me."
