Chad Curtis played for the Yankees from 1997-99. He famously hit a walk-off home run in Game 3 of the 1999 World Series against the Atlanta Braves. Curtis was arrested on accusations he inappropriately touched two students at a Michigan high school where he was in line to become football coach in May 2012.

Curtis was volunteering at Lakewood High School in Woodland, about 50 miles southeast of Grand Rapids.
