Monahan, 65, the longest tenured athletic trainer in baseball, has missed spring training and the start of the regular season, due to what had been termed “significant illnesses” by the team.

“It's going to be great to see him,” Mariano Rivera told the paper. “He has been missing all this time and it will be the first time we will see him since he got cancer and surgery and everything. It's going to be nice."
