Jay-Z, Yoko Ono earn Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week
Two music icons with Scarsdale connections join a Pound Ridge homeowner's pup on this week's countdown of top Twitter posts from celebrities with regional ties.

At No. 3 is Jay-Z, one of the week's top newsmakers for the dramatic announcement of his next album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail." The hip hop mogul, who secured his marriage license in Scarsdale, pokes a little fun at Billboard magazine, which won't count Samsung's advance purchase of 1 million albums toward its record sales tally.
Is he punishing his 2.6 million Twitter followers as a result?
If that's indeed the last we see of Shawn Carter on Twitter this year, his 46 total tweets are still a vertiable "War and Peace" compared to those of his wife, Beyoncé, who's posted a whopping five tweets since she joined Twitter in April 2012.
At No. 2 is Yoko Ono, a former Scarsdale resident who briefly attended Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville/Yonkers. The widow of John Lennon wished a happy birthday to another Beatle, Paul McCartney, who turned 71 on Tuesday.
.@PaulMcCartney Happy Birthday Paul! All of us are wishing you a long and joyful life. Lots and lots of love, yoko— Yoko Ono (@yokoono) June 18, 2013
It's a nice public gesture from Ono, who's been the subject of a McCartney joke or two through the years. The two seem friendlier these days. Maybe, the reason McCartney warmed up to Ono was because he remembered his late wife, Linda, also called Scarsdale home at one point. Imagine all the people, living life in peace.
This week's top tweet — or tweets, rather — belong to Penny Lane, whose owner is Academy Award winning actress Susan Sarandon, who's called Pound Ridge home.
Sarandon was on the set all week to film the movie "Tammy," which also stars Melissa McCarthy, Allison Janney and Dan Aykroyd. And there to document the whole experience was none other than Penny Lane, who offered a helping paw behind the scenes.

That's not to say Penny Lane didn't take a breather now and then.
This is my friend, Joe. He takes me around the set when Im not working. pic.twitter.com/bupYphmDL1— Penny Lane (@mspennypuppy) June 18, 2013
But soon enough, she was back with a boom.

Then, she was ready for her closeup.

The next day, Penny Lane opted to be on the other side of the lens.

By Thursday, it was a wrap, and Penny Lane couldn't wait to try on her parting gift.

But there was still time to sneak in one more photo op before trotting off the set.
