Liam Neeson reportedly to star in 'Taken 3' for $20 million payday
Oscar nominee Liam Neeson is reportedly closing a deal to earn a whopping $20 million for “Taken 3.”
One of Hollywood’s biggest action heroes following the success of the “Taken” franchise, with the first two movies earning over $600 million worldwide, the 61-year-old actor is on the verge of reprising his role as former CIA operative Bryan Mills for the third time, according to Deadline. The site reports that Neeson had been reluctant to sign on for last year’s sequel to the original 2008 blockbuster, even though he was paid in the $15 million range. But it seems that this time around, Neeson, who owns a home in Millbrook was less hesitant -- no doubt “taken” with the $20 million paycheck.
If Neeson’s deal does close, he won’t be the first Hudson Valley actor to earn $20 million for a movie role: Denzel Washington, a former Mount Vernon resident, reportedly commands the same amount to headline films.
As for when fans can expect to see “Taken 3,” Deadline reports that the script is in the works, and production is set to begin February 2014.
