National Burger Day: Where to celebrate in the Hudson Valley
The grilling season has officially begun, not only with Memorial Day but now with National Burger Day, which is May 28. So what better way to celebrate then to have a burger for lunch?
As someone who believes that every day should be National Burger Day, here are some picks for local burgers that would be a particularly tasty way to celebrate the “holiday.”
The Charro at the Pony Express in Pleasantville is topped with lettuce pickles, smoked bacon, jalapeno cheese and spicy chipotle sauce. At $8.25, it’s a reasonable price for a burger that will delight your taste buds. If you prefer a really cheesy cheeseburger, dive into Westchester Burger Company’s Entourage burger ($14), which features a 10-ounce ground beef patty nestled between two sourdough grilled-cheese sandwiches. If you're hankering for this cheesy goodness, you'll be pleased to know that restaurant has locations in White Plains, Rye Brook and Mount Kisco.
The Charro and the Entourage are just two of the featured sandwiches in Newsday Westchester's guide"Where to find 12 unique burgers in the Hudson Valley." Which is your favorite? Did we miss any? Let us know in the comments.
