TAP Craft Beer & Fine Food Festival features local brews this weekend in Catskills
The Peekskill Brewery, Newburgh Brewing Co. and Captain Lawrence Brewing of Elmsford are among the 85 New York State craft beers that will be featured at the 16th annual TAP New York Craft Beer & Fine Food Festival this weekend.
The event will take place at Hunter Mountain ski resort in the Catskills, and nearly 6,500 beer lovers are expected to attend the two-day event. It will feature 15 new entrants this year. Other Hudson Valley participants include Yonkers Brewing Co.; Andean Brewing Co., based in Blauvelt; and Defiant Brewing Co. of Pearl River.
“This is the biggest and oldest beer festival in New York State, and it keeps growing,” said Nat Collins, one of the organizers. “People have become more interested than ever in the art of beer making and the numerous styles we create here.”
Beer competitions and cooking demonstrations will take place. A wide range of finger food will be served all day (included in the ticket price), many selected to match different styles of beer. In addition, vendors in tents will offer arts and crafts for sale.
Admission for Sunday, April 28, is $60, and two-day tickets are $105. You can buy tickets at www.tapnewyork.com or pay at the door. No one under 21 years old will be admitted.
