Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before Wednesday afternoon's game against the Minnesota Twins that there is still no timetable for Mark Teixeira's return.
Teixeira fouled a ball off his right knee area in the sixth inning of Monday night's game against the Twins and was immediately pinch run for after drawing a walk in the at-bat. He underwent X-rays after the game that came back negative.

Girardi added that Teixeira is "not a whole lot better" and couldn't even pinch hit Wednesday if needed.
Rookie Greg Bird pinch ran for Teixeira and ended up starting the game-winning rally in the 10th inning with a double on Monday night. Bird was back in the lineup for Teixeira on Tuesday night, batting sixth and playing first base. Bird went 2-for-4 with his first career RBI. Bird is batting fifth and playing first base in Wednesday's game.
