Mariano Rivera just finished his first bullpen session of the spring, throwing 21 pitches to Francisco Cervelli under the watch of Joe Girardi and Dave Eiland. Took it nice and easy.

A.J. Burnett threw his first live BP session of the spring, throwing 30 pitches to Jorge Posada. After Derek Jeter looked at five straight pitches (the hitters swing infrequently during these sessions), Posada said: "Atta boy, A.J."

Who says they don't get along?

After the session, Posada said, "very nice" as the two met halfway between the mound and plate to shake hands.

Posada was in a playful mood, impersonating umpire Jim Joyce's unique strike call after certain pitches: "steeeeeeeeeeriiiiiiiiiike."
