Charles Hynes to run on the GOP line for DA seat
Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes isn't throwing in the towel.
Just weeks after losing the Democratic primary to Ken Thompson, the 78-year-old prosecutor will be running as a Republican in the general election.
A spokesman for Hynes, who is vying for his seventh term, said the district attorney would elaborate more on his plans next week.
Thompson, a former federal prosecutor, beat Hynes by a 55% to 44% margin in the Democratic primary. Following his defeat, Hynes told The New York Times he wouldn't run on another party line.
