I am unnaturally excited about Nick Johnson's chase at history.

Walk history, that is.

Only nine players since 1892 have played more than 100 games and finished the season with more walks than games played. That's according to the fine folks at Stats Inc., and the names are not surprising. Babe Ruth. Ted Williams. Mickey Mantle. Barry Bonds. Mark McGwire.

Remember that Seinfeld episode when George was hired by the Yankees, and Jerry said, "Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle ... Costanza?!?!?!" This kind of feels like that, too. Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle ... Nick Johnson?!?!?!

Anywho, with two more walks yesterday, Nick Johnson now has 24 in 23 games.

We're witnessing history, people. Might as well just sit back and take it in.
