The Yankees are used to support from many of their fans when they play on the road, but they might find the tables turned this week in the Bronx.

Tickets on the secondary ticket market for games in Yankee Stadium so far have been far less expensive than for those in Philadelphia, driven by greater inventory and, as a result, far more activity.

Throw in the proximity of the cities and the net result could be plenty of red-clad fans rooting for the visiting team Wednesday and Thursday.

So far 10 percent of tickets sold on StubHub for Yankee Stadium games have gone to Pennsylvanians; only 5 percent of tickets for the games in Philadelphia have gone to New Yorkers.

The price difference is glaring. As of Monday, StubHub.com said Series tickets in New York had sold for an average of $666 compared to $946 for Philadelphia.

Tickets to Game 1 were averaging $693, while Game 4 Sunday in Philadelphia was at $991.

The Yankees themselves put a limited number of tickets on sale online Wednesday but they quickly sold out, and a check of Ticketmaster last night continued to show no availability. The face value of tickets, which in the World Series is set by Major League Baseball, ranged from $51 for obstructed view bleacher seats to $1,706 for the Legends Suite.

Supply is the primary reason for the price disparity between the cities on the secondary market, which has exploded in popularity in recent years as online technology has improved and many states, including New York, have legalized scalping under most circumstances.

FanSnap.com, which compiles secondary ticket offerings from a variety of sites, Monday had more than 7,500 listed for Game 1 at Yankee Stadium, and only 3,500 for Game 3 in Philadelphia.

The average listing for games at Citizens Bank Park was $1,626, with a low of $650.

At Yankee Stadium, the average asking price was $769, with a low of $410.

StubHub said a Legends Suite ticket in Section 17B for Game 2 in the Bronx sold for $9,999.

Because the Phillies clinched the pennant four days before the Yankees, their fans had more time to get excited about the Series, but experts expect the gap in price between the cities to persist.

During the ALCS, the average price paid at Yankee Stadium on StubHub was $193, less than the $219 average for the NLCS in Philadelphia.
