Nineteen of the 25 Yankees showed up for yesterday's workout, which wasn't really a workout since the team didn't take the field. It was more a day for players to re-inhabit their lockers, or, if they are new Yankees like Curtis Granderson, to check out the new digs.

The six Yankees who were not present (at least we didn't see them) during the 90-minute open clubhouse period were Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Jorge Posada, Nick Swisher, Robinson Cano and Sergio Mitre.

Don't read anything into that, though. The workout was optional, and it's entirely possible the players visited the stadium at other times during the day when the media was not present.
