Jorge Posada is healthy enough to play,  so he will be catching Javy Vazquez' next big start in an hour-and-a-half.

Joe Girardi said he was optimistic about Posada when the latter took batting practice Friday with two different groups. The manager has remained optimistic, too, about his one struggling starting pitcher. Everybody knows that Vazquez will hear it here at Yankee Stadium if he struggles early.

Girardi acknowledged that Vazquez probably has been trying too hard, adding that that is a downside of being a starting pitcher--you have to wait five days for your next shot. "You can talk to him," the manager said, "but when you're out there, you're out there."
