Bean Balls

Chamberlain earns his first ejection after throwing two pitches near the head of Red Sox hitter Kevin Youkilis. Chamberlain is in his second inning of work and, with one out in the ninth, Youkilis steps to the plate. His first pitch is up and in, near Youkilis' head. The second goes in the same place. Both garner loud applause from the crowd, but plate umpire Angel Hernandez throws Chamberlain out of the game, preventing him from nailing down what would have been his first save. Afterward, Red Sox manager Terry Francona is not pleased: “If that young man is trying to get our attention, he did a very good job.”
