Granderson broke his left pinkie knuckle after being hit by a pitch in the fifth inning of a game on Friday. He had played in eight games since his return from a broken right forearm that put him on the DL.

The Yankees' Rule V draft pick spent all of last season on the DL with the same injury. Cabral threw a scoreless inning in an extended spring training game April 16, but there's no indication of when he'll return. |

Pineda missed all of last season with tendinitis in his right shoulder, and later suffered an anterior labral tear in his right shoulder that required arthroscopic surgery. Pineda has yet to play for the Yankees since being acquired in a trade from the Mariners last January, but he threw an inning during an extended spring training game April 22 and could return in June. |

After suffering a fractured ankle during Game 1 of the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers last season, Jeter had every hope of returning by Opening Day. Jeter's return date kept moving back until a CT scan revealed another small crack in his left ankle April 18. He has been wearing a walking boot since April 23 and isn't due back until sometime after the All-Star break. |

Rodriguez had surgery on his left hip Jan. 16 and has been mostly quiet since then. On May 2, A-Rod announced on his Facebook that his doctor had cleared him for baseball activities, but he still isn't expected back until sometime after the All-Star break.

Battling for the starting catching spot, Cervelli was injured when he was hit with a foul tip by the Blue Jays' Rajai Davis in just the first inning of a game April 26. The fiery young catcher had been off to a solid start, going 14-for-52 with three home runs and eight RBIs. Now he's expected to miss at least six weeks. |

The Yankees hoped to avoid sending another player to the DL after Nunez left a game against the Oakland Athletics with soreness in his left rib cage area on May 5. He underwent an MRI on May 7 that came back negative. |
