LOS ANGELES -- Paul Pierce's on court reunion with Doc Rivers is going to have to wait.

The Nets announced Saturday that Pierce is going to sit out the final game of the team's three-game West Coast swing due to a sore left groin, meaning he won't be able to suit up against his old coach Doc Rivers when the Nets take on the Clippers at Staples Center. But Pierce won't be the lone starter sidelined....

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Doc Rivers could tell Paul Pierce was emotionally hurt, trying to come to grips with the notion that he was no longer wanted in Boston.

Pierce bled Celtics’ green courtesy of playing 15 years with the franchise that plucked him out of Kansas with the 10th selection in the 1998 draft. He was attached to the Celtics, a part of the team’s interwoven fabric.

Lob City was grounded in the second half.

The Nets rebounded they way they had hoped Friday night at the Barclays Center, holding on for a win they badly wanted. We now have a new date for the first matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Knicks.

The NBA announced Thursday night that the game will be played Nov. 26, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. on TNT. That's not necessarily a good thing for the Nets, given that will wind up being their third game in a four-night span.

The Nets host the Clippers on Nov. 23 on the heels of their three-game...

Everyone knows Deron Williams was torn while mulling his free agent decision, but Jason Kidd said Williams nearly took his talents home to Dallas rather than re-sign with the Nets.

Deron Williams has made his decision: he's Brooklyn bound.

The free agent point guard announced his choice on Twitter just after 7 p.m., ending the Nets' lengthy courtship. Ever since they traded for him in February of last year, the Nets tried to sell Williams on the prospect of starting something new in Brooklyn and being the face of franchise.

Now, that'll be the case when the Nets...
