SAN FRANCISCO -- Call it a mixed bag.

Tuesday night’s 95-90 defeat at the hands of Kobe Bryant and the Lakers at the Staples Center had the Nets split a bit.

On one hand, they were pleased with the way they clawed back into it after finding themselves in a 10-0 hole four minutes into the game, storming to a six-point lead late in the fourth quarter.

However, there’s still another...

When Joe Johnson looks over at the Lakers’ bench a week from Tuesday at Staples Center and Mike D’Antoni is at the end of it, let’s just say it’s not something he expected to witness.

Deron Williams is glad the Dwightmare is finally in the rearview mirror.

With Dwight Howard officially traded to the Lakers yesterday, the Nets can truly move on from their fruitless pursuit of the NBA's top center, something that's perfectly fine with the Nets All-Star point guard.

“We went down that road a lot," he told reporters after Team USA's semifinal win over Argentina....

Getting Joe Johnson might not preclude the Nets from landing Dwight Howard after all.

The Nets are once again engaged in trade taks with the Magic, trying to acquire Howard to give them their own version of the Big Three, according to several reports. The proposed deal would send Howard to Nets for Brook Lopez and Kris Humpries -- both in sign and trades -- along with promising guard MarShon...
