A.J. Price is following in fellow Amityville native Mike James' footsteps.

As first reported by Michael Lee of the Washington Post, the Long Island-raised Price agreed to terms with the Washington Wizards. Lee reports that the two sides agreed on a one-year deal.

James, who like Price plays point guard, also played for Washington from 2008-10.

Price, 25, spent the first three seasons of his NBA career with the Pacers. Last season, he played a career-low 12.9 minutes per game, averaging 3.9 points and 2.0 assists per game. Those numbers translated to 10.9 points and 5.5 assists per 36 minutes.

Price's best basketball came in the first round of the 2010-11 playoffs. He played 80 minutes in five games, averaging 8.4 points per game, more than two points better than his career average.

A University of Connecticut alum, Price and fellow Long Island native Danny Green -- who recently inked a deal with the San Antonio Spurs -- were take taken in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft. A two-time Newsday Suffolk Player of the Year, Price averaged 28.5 points and eight rebounds his senior year at Amityville High School.
