It became clear Friday why Amar'e Stoudemire said he's "doubtful" to play in Sunday's Game 4 against the Miami Heat when the Knicks forward tweeted the gruesome accompanying picture of his left hand.

Stoudemire wrote, "A millimeter away from my nerve. Thanks to the Most High I'm still able to heal an recover," referencing how close the cut was to a nerve in his hand.

Earlier today, Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he thinks Stoudemire will be available to play Sunday. Stoudemire, though, said he was doubtful, and that his hand isn't 100 percent.

Stoudemire injured the hand after he hit a fire extinguisher following the Knicks' Game 2 loss to Miami. On Wednesday, Stoudemire said of the incident, "I didn't try to hit the glass at all. I just walked by, swung my hand at the wall, hit the fire extinguisher and cut my hand."

The postgame incident has been met with far more ridicule than sympathy. An Office Space-inspired GIF took Twitter by storm, and yesterday, former Pacers forward Austin Croshere posted a picture of a taped off fire extinguisher at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Stoudemire is one of three key Knicks sidelined by injury. Jeremy Lin is recovering from knee surgery and won't play Friday, and Iman Shumpert tore his ACL in the opening game of the series and is out for the playoffs.

The Knicks confirmed that the Twitter picture is Stoudemire's hand.
