An NBA blog from Newsday's Bobby Bonett
Young fan really appreciates Miami's effort
Bring on the memes.
Following a home loss to the Boston Celtics last night, ESPN cameras followed the dejected Miami Heat walking through the tunnel toward the locker room.
Mike Breen, after finalizing his call with "A stunning result here at the American Airlines Arena," stopped talking for just a couple of seconds, letting Miami's defeat sink in. Just as Breen pulled away from the mic, a young voice could be heard repeatedly yelling the same phrase of encouragement to LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the rest of the Heat:
"Good job! Good effort! Good job!"
The youngster's voice was clear as day thanks to a silent Heat crowd, and could be heard well into the tunnel.
So if you get a tongue-in-cheek email with the subject line "Good job, good effort," from your boss after screwing up your TPS reports today, you now know why.
As far as the Drib knows, the world's most enthusiastic, high-spirited fan has yet to be identified.
