Larry Sanders repaid the Bucks for making him the face of the franchise and cornerstone of their rebuild by tearing a ligament in his right thumb during an altercation at a nightclub, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported. Sanders had surgery and will miss six weeks.

J.R. Smith had an awful postseason, and said he was more concerned with the Knicks playoff exit and his role in it than what Woodson apparently said at his exit meeting in May.

The Pacers visit the Garden Wednesday in the first meeting between the two teams since Indiana ended the Knicks’ season in the conference semifinals. The way the Knicks have played they would be extremely lucky to get that far again.

The NBA fined J.R. Smith $25,000 for directing hostile and inappropriate language to another player via his Twitter account, in violation of NBA rules.
Smith took exception to Pistons guard Brandon Jennings’ tweet questioning whether his brother, Chris Smith, belonged in the NBA. Jennings later removed his tweet.
