Amar’e Stoudemire scrimmaged for the second time this week with the Erie BayHawks and soon will join the Knicks’ big club.
There is “no target date,” according to Stoudemire because he said needs time. But when he can play he expects to be the player he was when the signed for $100 million.
“When I’m healthy I feel like I’m back to my dominant self,” Stoudemire said.

Mike Woodson laid out at least part of the plan for Amar'e Stoudemire.
"This is a rest day for him," Woodson said. "Tomorrow will be another heavy day for him. That was the plan to go hard yesterday and take it easy today and tomorrow get back at it again and see how he feels after that."

Carmelo Anthony went through shootaround and will test his sprained left ankle before the game. Right now he’s a game-time decision against the Nets.
“He’s moving around pretty good so we’ll see,” Mike Woodson said. “He still hasn’t indicated that he’s going to play. So he’s going to wait. I think he’s going to come out and warm up and see how he feels.”

Mike Woodson admitted what had been known until the Rockets changed their original offer for Jeremy Lin.
“We wanted Jeremy back,” Woodson said before Monday’s game. “I made that publicly [known] back in the summer when we were going through the recruitment process. But things changed from a business standpoint and Jeremy decided to take the Houston deal.”

Amar’e Stoudemire is getting closer to being cleared for practice. Mike Woodson said there might be an update after Monday night’s game against Jeremy Lin and the Rockets.
Woodson said Stoudemire still hasn’t been given the OK. But he wouldn’t rule out Stoudemire doing something Tuesday if the Knicks hold practice.
“We’ll see,” Woodson said. “We’ll know more tonight after the game.”

Jeremy Lin makes his MSG return tomorrow night with the Rockets in what should be another interesting night at the Garden.
Lin was tremendous last season, one of the greatest sports stories ever. But his departure led to feelings of anger, sadness, indifference and in some cases relief.

Jason Kidd spearheaded every win the Nets had over the Knicks from the 2001-02 season through 2007-08 and Tuesday night he showed his old team what they could have had.
