Gregg Popovich always has been a big fan of Jason Kidd. He tried to get him to sign with the Spurs in 2003, a short time after San Antonio beat Kidd’s Nets in the Finals.

So when Popovich was asked if he admired the former Knicks' point guard for leaving $6.2 million on the table when he retired, he cracked a joke about Kidd.

“He’s made enough,” Popovich said. “He told me no a...

Jason Kidd hasn’t publicly committed to returning next season, but Knicks GM Glen Grunwald said Tuesday: “We look forward to having him again next year.”

Kidd, 40, was scoreless in the last 10 playoff games and benched the second halves of Games 5 and 6 against Indiana. Speculation is Kidd could seek a buyout, but Grunwald and Woodson said retirement wasn’t discussed in Monday’s exit meeting.

Martin is 35 and hasn’t played since May. So at least he will have something no other Knick has – fresh legs. Mike Woodson...

The Knicks continue to say they’re not counting the Celtics out despite their unimpressive 16-17 record heading into tonight.
