Mike Woodson said Carmelo Anthony will keep starting at power forward. But he said he also has to get Amar’e Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler and Anthony to click since that’s a lineup Woodson would like to use more.
They are – arguably the Knicks’ three best players – so they should be on the court together.
“I’m not scared to play Amar’e, Tyson and Melo together,” Woodson said. “It’s been...Read more »
Everyone will make it about Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett tomorrow because that’s what we do. But it’s Knicks vs. Celtics.
It’s a big game for both teams; as big a late-January game as you can have, especially for the Knicks.
They have struggled in heated, physical playoff-type games. Their 0-3 record against the Bulls – without Derrick Rose – and everyone knows what happened last...Read more »
Raymond Felton was shooting around while the rest of the Knicks were practicing. The significance in this exercise was Felton wasn’t wearing a brace, just some tape on his right pinky and fourth finger.
Felton was cleared to do normal basketball activities – shoot, dribble, pass and catch passes – without a brace. The next step for him is to be cleared for contact. It could happen later this...Read more »
LONDON – Mike Woodson and Rasheed Wallace refuted a report that the veteran big man’s season might be over due to a foot injury.
Wallace hasn’t wanted to talk about his foot and usually tells the media to direct all questions about his health to Woodson and the Knicks’ medical staff. But at Thursday morning's shootaround, he addressed the report.
“No, my season ain’t over,” Wallace said....Read more »
Mike Woodson planning a hard practice Wednesday to get Knicks, Iman Shumpert ready for Thursday against Pistons

Woodson will spend some time with his family, but he’ll also watch film with his coaches and get ready for what he called “a camp-like practice tomorrow” at the O2 Arena here.

It’s hard not to agree with J.R. Smith’s assessment of the Knicks after they beat New Orleans Sunday.
If the Knicks are supposed to be a championship contender, they shouldn’t come out flat against the Hornets, which is basically what Smith said.
“We’re playing against a team that’s not going to be in the playoffs and we expect to play better than that,’’ Smith said. “We talk about being...Read more »
Steve Novak never says anything to stir up things, but he drilled Nate Robinson after the little Bulls guard mocked him.
After Robinson hit a pair of jumpers in the second quarter, he did the discount double-check that Novak has made his signature move following a big three-pointer.
Novak wasn’t too happy about that and uncharacteristically retaliated with a biting remark.
“It...Read more »
Carmelo Anthony wasn’t at this morning’s shootaround to talk about the one-game suspension the NBA handed down yesterday for his actions following Monday’s loss to the Celtics.
Anthony will serve the one-game ban tonight when the Knicks face the Pacers. Mike Woodson said it was his decision for Anthony to miss shootaround.
“He really don’t need to be here,” Woodson said. “He’s not playing...Read more »
This wasn’t a good day for the Knicks.
First Mike Woodson said the doctors told him he has to cut back on Amar’e Stoudemire’s minutes because he felt soreness after playing about 28 minutes in Monday’s loss to the Celtics.
Then the NBA hits Carmelo Anthony with a one-game ban after he “attempted to engage with Kevin Garnett multiple times after Monday's game and therefore a suspension...Read more »
