Amar'e Stoudemire said his rehab from his second knee surgery this season is "going well" but there has been no indication that he will play again this season.

Stoudemire had his right knee cleaned out March 11. The prognosis was he would miss about six weeks. The Knicks may need a deep playoff run for Stoudemire to return.

"It's been two weeks in now so I've really been able to recover, feel the improvement daily, and I just hope that continues to be the case," Stoudemire said on ESPN's SportsCenter.

Mike Woodson joked that Stoudemire should "stay off of TV" and talk to him. Woodson said "it would be great" if Stoudemire returned for the playoffs, but said he hasn't been told anything. "I don't know what the timetable is on Amar'e," Woodson said. "If he's telling you that his rehab is going well that's a good sign. How close he is to playing I have no idea."

Chandler still out

Tyson Chandler missed his eighth consecutive game, and seventh straight with of a bulging disc in his neck. Woodson said at this point, the Knicks aren't considering keeping Chandler out until Tuesday in Miami. They play Charlotte Friday and Boston Sunday. "He's still day to day," Woodson said. 'If he comes in and says he wants to play on Friday then we'll play him.'
