Smith signs with the Knicks midway through the 2011-2012 season for a pro-rated portion of the Knicks' $2.5 million mini-midlevel exception. Smith, who had been playing in China for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls, averages 12.5 points, 2.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds and 27.6 minutes in 35 games.
