The Knicks announced that Carmelo Anthony will not play against the Thunder in Wednesday's nationally televised game because of the left ankle spain he suffered against the Magic Monday.

It is not clear how serious the injury is and whether it will cause him to miss further time.

Coach Mike Woodson had said about 90 minutes before the game that Anthony would be a game time decision.

Anthony had indicated he would do everything possible to play, motivated in part by the specialness of a Christmas Day game at the Garden. But it was not to be.

Kenyon Martin is available to play today, Woodson said.
