Iman Shumpert returns to scene of his ACL tear
Iman Shumpert will be making his first trip back to Miami since he tore his left ACL in Game 1 of last year’s playoffs.
He said he’s dreaded going back there because of the horrible memory he has.
“I’m going to try not to think about it,” he said. “I have been dreading it for a long time already, didn’t feel like being in Miami because of it. Once they tip the ball up it’s just basketball.”
It’s been a long road back for Shumpert. But he’s playing much better later on both ends of the floor, looks more comfortable than at any point this season.
He’s averaging 8.0 points during the Knicks eight-game winning streak and is shooting 14-of-24 from three. In his last three, he’s averaging 11.3 points and is 8-for-12 on threes.
