The Knicks officially announced Friday that Kurt Thomas was waived and Solomon Jones was signed to a contract.
The 6-10 Jones, who played in China, will be in uniform for Friday's game against the Cavaliers. The Knicks initially went after James Singleton, who also played in China this year, but he didn’t get a letter of clearance to play in the NBA.

The Knicks probably won’t have Tyson Chandler tonight when they try to clinch their first Atlantic Division title since 1994.
Chandler is listed as doubtful with a bulging disc in his neck. But Mike Woodson said Chandler is “sore” and “needed rest today.”

Carmelo Anthony won the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after an incredible four games for the Knicks.
Anthony averaged 41.8 points in leading the Knicks to a 4-0 week.
He scored 50 at Miami, 40 at Atlanta, 41 against Milwaukee and had 36 yesterday to help the Knicks win in Oklahoma City for their 12th straight victory.

Iman Shumpert will be making his first trip back to Miami since he tore his left ACL in Game 1 of last year’s playoffs.
He said he’s dreaded going back there because of the horrible memory he has. “I’m going to try not to think about it,” he said. “I have been dreading it for a long time already, didn’t feel like being in Miami because of it. Once they tip the ball up it’s just basketball.”
