Basketball Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson said during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio that if he were Anthony he would not re-sign with the Knicks. Robertson said Anthony is unfairly criticized for shooting too much and that he doesn’t get enough help from his teammates.

Phil Jackson is the Knicks’ president now, but he couldn’t help himself from taking a little shot at the San Antonio Spurs, one of his chief rivals when he coached the Lakers.

Carmelo Anthony plans to continue playing through the discomfort in his right shoulder as long as the Knicks have a chance to make the playoffs.
That, of course, could end Friday night.
A loss to the Raptors and a Hawks’ win over the Nets, who are supposed to rest some main guys, would eliminate the Knicks from the playoffs.

The first part of the Knicks’ season featured more trade rumors and reports that Mike Woodson was close to being fired than actual wins.
Both should continue through the All-Star break and into next week.
The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 20 and the Knicks are 20-32 heading into the break. So expect rumors of Woodson being on his way out to persist and trade talks to heat up.

Woodson defended Tyson Chandler and Carmelo Anthony, who have been openly critical about the team. Woodson defended his defensive scheme. And during his weekly spot with 98.7 FM ESPN Woodson said he’s not going to let the media tear the Knicks apart.

DALLAS – Carmelo Anthony never said he didn’t want to play with Chris Paul. But he called the recent report that the Knicks and Clippers might consider an Anthony for Blake Griffin trade “silly and stupid.”
Clippers coach Doc Rivers also used the word “stupid” a few times in reaction the report, which said the two sides haven’t had any discussions.
