Carmelo Anthony refuted an ESPN report that he’s already made up his mind to take his talents elsewhere this summer when he becomes a free agent.

“I’m not thinking about that," Anthony said at the Knicks' morning shootaround. "I’ll be selfish to think about that at this point, with us losing and going through the situation that we are going through. It’d be selfish on my part to...

Raymond Felton to return for Knicks

Raymond Felton missed the last four games with a pinched nerve in his hip, but he will return tonight to face Chris Paul and the Clippers.

The Knicks, losers of six straight, could use all the help they can get. But Felton wasn’t playing well defensively when he was healthy, and Paul isn’t the best guy to face when you’re coming off an injury like that.

“Chris Paul is not a good matchup...

Mike Woodson is planning to change his starting lineup tomorrow night against the Pistons.

The Pistons start a Josh Smith, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond frontline so Woodson said he “might match to their bigness.”

It’s a safe bet that Carmelo Anthony, Andrea Bargnani and Kenyon Martin will start up front with Raymond Felton and either J.R. Smith or Iman Shumpert.

Woodson said...

Carmelo Anthony’s minutes could become a factor as the season continues. He went into Saturday’s action leading the league at 40.8 minutes per game, nearly four more than he averaged last season.

The Knicks falling behind big early in games has led to Anthony spending less time on the bench. But they can’t afford to overuse Anthony and burn him out....

The Knicks are below .500 for the first time since March 2012. But it’s only three games into the season, so it’s not time to panic. Still there are some things the Knicks need to clean up.

Some takeaways from Sunday night’s 109-100 loss to the Timberwolves:

Bad offense led to bad defense:

The Knicks didn’t take care of the basketball and didn’t move the ball enough on offense....

Tyson Chandler needs help

The Knicks’ lack of a post presence besides Tyson Chandler is a glaring weakness that wasn’t really addressed by former GM Glen Grunwald and hasn’t yet by new president and GM Steve Mills.

Despite being a 7-footer, Andrea Bargnani is a finesse offensive player who doesn’t defend or rebound well. He has three rebounds in two games.

Kenyon Martin is on a minutes restriction because of...

Carmelo Anthony says he wants to be a free agent. He says he wants to be pursued and recruited similar to the way LeBron James was in 2010. But he also keeps giving every indication that he’s staying with the Knicks.

Just this past week, in response to criticism from TNT analysts Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, Anthony said he has “a big Rolodex’’ and plans to use it to recruit players to...
