The Knicks’ roster has changed so much since December they decided to stand pat at the trade deadline and try to win with what they have.

Only Amar’e Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Landry Fields, Toney Douglas, Iman Shumpert, Josh Harrellson, Bill Walker and Jared Jeffries were technically on the roster when camp began.

Since, the Knicks added Baron Davis, Mike Bibby, Steve...

Mike D'Antoni should have sent a message and cleared his bench early yesterday

Some want to make a big deal about Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire not playing in the fourth quarter yesterday. Maybe it was, but our thinking is there was no reason for Mike D’Antoni to put his two “best” players back in the game at that point.

The Knicks were down 21 in the fourth. They were being outplayed all night. Stoudemire clearly was out of it from the start. By the way, in...

Carmelo Anthony left the Knicks’ locker room right about the time Mike D’Antoni was discussing the small forward’s performance against the Mavericks.

Anthony’s plan was to be even quieter than he was in the Knicks’ 95-85 loss to the Mavericks. Anthony scored just six points, none in the second half and his first thought was not to say anything to the media.

But Anthony returned and spoke...

The 13th annual Knicks Bowl for the Garden of Dreams Foundation was held Friday night at 300 Bowl at Chelsea Piers. Jeremy Lin, Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire had the largest groups of young fans seeking autographs during the evening of bowling.

Steve Novak, who scored 17 points in Wednesday's win over Cleveland and is becoming a fan favorite at the Garden for his shooting, also had...

Second half opens with big questions for Knicks

The Knicks are filled with big names and plenty of questions as the second half of the season is about to start. Two of the biggest involve two of their biggest players.

Tyson Chandler’s left wrist is still bothering him to the point where he said he may consider missing some games. That’s a last resort, but Chandler said he was going to see the doctor about it since it didn’t get better during...

Knicks return to practice tomorrow

Carmelo Anthony was back from playing in the All-Star Game and Amar’e Stoudemire returned from his Caribbean vacation over the weekend.

The two Knicks’ captains were at the team’s training facility today, but there was no practice. League rules state that if a team plays the Thursday before the All-Star Game they can’t practice until the Tuesday following it. This is a player’s union rule...

5 Questions facing the Knicks the second half of the season

The first three were in Wednesday's newspaper and can be read here. They deal with Carmelo Anthony, Jeremy Lin and Amar'e Stoudemire.

Below are the remaining two questions:

4. The Knicks seem loaded now. How will everyone fit together?

That’s for D’Antoni to figure out and quickly. It won’t be easy because the Knicks...

Linsanity Linvades Toronto

Linsanity is in full effect in Canada.

Jeremy Lin is on the front of many of the newspapers today. He’s on a huge television outside the Air Canada Center promoting his appearance tonight. And there was a full-blown press conference for Lin at the morning shootaround.

Mike D’Antoni fittingly said: “Are we in the playoffs now?”

It’s unbelievable what has happened. I wasn’t in Cleveland...

Stoudemire, Chandler left off All-Star team

Carmelo Anthony will be the only Knick in this year’s NBA All-Star Game.

That is if he even plays.

For the first time in six years, Amar’e Stoudemire wasn’t selected to the NBA All-Star Team. Tyson Chandler also missed out on making it for the first time.

The reserves were announced last night and Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Deron Williams and first-timers Andre Iguodala,...

The Knicks will be without Amar’e Stoudemire for the next three games as he mourns the loss of his older brother, Hazell.

Coach Mike D’Antoni announced Wednesday morning that Stoudemire, who is in Florida with his family, will rejoin the Knicks for practice Monday. Hazell Stoudemire was killed in a car wreck two days ago in Florida.

Stoudemire released this statement through the Knicks...
