Five ways the Eastern Conference semifinals series against the Indiana Pacers went wrong for the Knicks:

1) Chandler bombs

Tyson Chandler didn’t play like a former Defensive Player of the Year or All-Defensive First-Team center against Indiana’s Roy Hibbert. Chandler totaled 36 rebounds and 29 fouls in the six games, while Hibbert averaged 13.3 points and 10.3 boards.

2) Anthony...

Mike Woodson said he didn’t think Chris Copeland would make the Knicks this season and now he’s going to be one of the first players off the bench in their biggest game of the season Saturday night.

It sounds a little like the Jeremy Lin story all over again.

Copeland, a well-traveled 29-year-old rookie, helped the Knicks beat the Pacers in Game and extend the Eastern Conference semifinals...

If Amar'e Stoudemire returns for Game 3, the Knicks power forward is not expected to play big minutes, coach Mike Woodson said on ESPN Radio on Wednesday.

Stoudemire, who is rehabbing from right knee surgery on March 11, has been targeted to return on Saturday night in Indianapolis, and Woodson said Wednesday that remains “a possibility.”

As part of his ramp-up, Stoudemire was scheduled...

Mike Woodson didn’t minimize the importance of Tuesday night’s Game 2 for the Knicks.

“This is a major game for us tonight,” Woodson said. “We don’t want to go to Indiana down two games. So this is a major, major game for our ball club.

Yet, Woodson said he’s telling his team to not feel any pressure down 0-1 against Indiana in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Woodson isn’t getting...

Rasheed Wallace retires

Rasheed Wallace’s playing career is official over, for good this time.

The Knicks announced today that Wallace has retired. He tried to return from a foot injury that kept him out for four month. But after he aggravated it in Monday’s loss in Charlotte Wallace has decided to call it a career.

The Knicks probably won’t have Tyson Chandler tonight when they try to clinch their first Atlantic Division title since 1994.

“He’s a little beat up,” Woodson said.

Chandler’s injury seems like something that could linger and is definitely a cause for...
