TORONTO – Steve Novak never wanted to be traded by the Knicks, never wanted to leave New York. But the sharpshooter was the key piece in the deal that brought the Knicks new starting power forward Andrea Bargnani.

“I didn’t expect it,” Novak said after the morning shootaround. “ You understand this is the business we’re in. New York felt like home. It was a place I love to play and I miss....

Alan Anderson spent parts of two seasons playing with new Knick Andrea Bargnani in Toronto and called him “an amazing player.”

Anderson, who signed with the Nets Tuesday, also thinks a change of scenery will be good for Bargnani and a weight will be lifted off of his shoulders because of the Knicks’ roster.

Bargnani, the first overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, was heavily criticized...

Andrea Bargnani has shown he can score, and he might get more and easier opportunities playing with Carmelo Anthony. But Bargnani knows he has to put more an emphasis into defense and rebounding.

“I’ll focus a lot on that,” Bargnani said on a conference call Thursday morning. “I got to get better in many aspects of the game. Last year was tough for me because I had so many injuries. I wasn’t...

Andrea Bargnani is officially a Knick.

The team completed the trade for the 7-foot Italian shooter this afternoon. The Knicks sent Marcus Camby, Steve Novak, Quentin Richardson (via sign-and-trade), 2016 first-round pick and second-round choices in 2014 and 2017 to Toronto for Bargnani.

The trade was agreed upon July 1, but couldn’t be finalized until today’s end of the NBA moratorium...

Marcus Camby sounds as if he doesn't think he got a fair shot with the Knicks last season and isn’t thrilled about returning to Toronto.

The Knicks officially announced Friday that Kurt Thomas was waived and Solomon Jones was signed to a contract.

Tyson Chandler's neck remains an issue, concern

The Knicks probably won’t have Tyson Chandler tonight when they try to clinch their first Atlantic Division title since 1994.

Chandler is listed as doubtful with a bulging disc in his neck. But Mike Woodson said Chandler is “sore” and “needed rest today.”

“He’s a little beat up,” Woodson said.

Chandler’s injury seems like something that could linger and is definitely a cause for...

Many Knicks are familiar with Kenyon Martin.

Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, Marcus Camby and Jason Kidd all played with him before. Martin’s most success came playing with Kidd and the Nets, where they reached two Finals together. But that was more than a decade ago.

Martin is 35 and hasn’t played since May. So at least he will have something no other Knick has – fresh legs. Mike Woodson...
