Wade: Return of Amar'e will throw off rhythm
Dwyane Wade believes the Knicks are a good team now and a better one with Amar'e Stoudemire. But the Heat superstar said that when Stoudemire returns, there is going to be an adjustment period for him and the Knicks.
"It's kind of about the rhythm," Wade said. "You come from a place where you're so used to getting so many touches, or you're used to getting so many plays. Now you've got so many guys on the team, you could go six or seven minutes without touching the ball. It's all about rhythm. So sometimes when you do get in, you're out of rhythm, you're out of flow. It's not easy."
Stoudemire missed his 11th straight game Sunday with a bulging disc in his back. Barring a setback, he could return Wednesday against the Nets or Friday against the Cavaliers.
The Knicks aren't practicing Monday, but Stoudemire will work out and likely will scrimmage. He participated in full-contact, full-court scrimmages Thursday and Saturday.
Minutes wear on Davis
"He's not a hundred percent, probably never be a hundred percent," Woodson said. "I've got to do a better job of keeping tabs on that and watching him. Probably shouldn't have come back with him, probably should have stayed with [Iman Shumpert]. But hell, that was my call. I'll go watch the tape and the next game, I'll try to be better."
Lin on schedule
Woodson said Jeremy Lin is on schedule with his rehab from arthroscopic left knee surgery. Lin, who had the surgery two weeks ago Monday, is riding the exercise bike and doing work in the pool but isn't jogging yet. He's not expected to play again unless the Knicks reach the second round of the playoffs.
Around the rim
This was the Knicks' first home loss under Woodson in 10 games . . . Jared Jeffries needed three stitches to close a cut on his chin but returned in the second half . . . LeBron James and Wade weren't the only power couple at the Garden Sunday. Jay-Z and Beyoncé were at the game . . . This should sound familiar to Knicks fans: Ronny Turiaf (hamstring) and Eddy Curry were inactive for the Heat.
