Report: Wizards fire head coach Flip Saunders
The Wizards (2-15) have the league's worst record this season.
Washington started the season 0-8 before picking up their first win against Toronto on Jan. 10. They upset the Oklahoma City Thunder last Wednesday, 105-102, but have lost their last three games, including a 103-83 blowout loss to the 76ers last night.
John Wall and Nick Young (16.4 points per game) are leading the Wizards in scoring. However, three of the team's top five scorers -- Wall, Jordan Crawford and Andray Blatche -- are shooting worse than 40 percent from the field.
Washington's defense hasn't been much better, either. The Wizards are giving up 99.3 points per game, fifth-worst in the league. Their point differential per game (10.6) is also worst in the Eastern Conference.
Saunders was in his third season as Wizards head coach. His career record with the team is 51-130.
CBSSports.com's Ken Berger reported that Randy Wittman will take over as interim coach.
