NBA Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team Tuesday afternoon, receiving 29 of a possible 29 first-place votes.

Irving, the No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft, had an outstanding rookie season for the Cavs. The point guard averaged 18.5 points on 46.9 percent shooting, and shot 39.9 percent from three and 87.2 percent from the line. Irving also averaged 5.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Joining Irving on the first team was Ricky Rubio, Kenneth Faried, Klay Thompson, Iman Shumpert, Kawhi Leonard and Brandon Knight.

Shumpert, Leonard and Knight all received 40 points in the voting, meaning all three players made the first team cut.

Chandler Parsons, Isaiah Thomas, MarShon Brooks, Derrick Williams and Tristan Thompson were named to the second team.

The two teams were voted on by the league's 30 head coaches. Coaches weren't permitted to vote for players on their own team.

Rubio received 21 first-place votes and 49 points; Faried received 19 and 46; Thompson received 16 and 43; and Shumpert, Leonard and Knight received 15, 14 and 13 first-place votes, respectively.

Parsons got the most first-place votes (10) and points (33) of all second-team players.
