NBA rookies to watch
Forget Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash. Look ahead to the young guns who'll try to make their mark on this NBA season.
HARRISON BARNES, Forward, Warriors
Talented forward had some good games in the preseason and will get an opportunity to play.
BRADLEY BEAL, Guard, Wizards
With John Wall sidelined for a few weeks, the former Florida star is going to have to grow up quickly. But scoring seems to come easy for him and he’ll give the Wizards an athletic backcourt tandem once Wall returns.
ANTHONY DAVIS, Center, Hornets
Davis won a national championship with Kentucky and an Olympic Gold medal this year. Next up for the long defender and rebounder likely is Rookie of the Year.
TERRENCE JONES, Forward, Rockets
He’s been the most impressive among Houston’s rookies and has carved out his spot as the first big man off the bench.
MICHAEL KIDD-GILCHRIST, Guard, Bobcats
His defense isn’t an issue. It’s his offense and it’s going to be interesting to see if the No. 2 overall pick from Kentucky can improve his jumper.
DAMIAN LILLARD, Guard, Blazers
Ex-Weber State point guard is being given the keys to the Blazers’ offense and has shown the confidence and skill to run it well.
JARED SULLINGER, Center/forward, Celtics
The former Ohio State star has a good low post game, decent range on his jumper and is an adept passer, three things that could possibly land him in the starting lineup.
