ORLANDO, Fla. -- The whispers are apparently traveling around the league.
Some executives reportedly aren't thrilled the Nets landed Andrei Kirilenko at such a cheap price tag. Kirilenko had opted out of the final season of his two-year deal with the Timberwolves, one that would've pocketed him a cool $10 million in 2013-14. He wound up signing with the Nets for nearly $7 million less, taking...Read more »
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Andrei Kirilenko is now a Net.
The Nets officially announced Friday they've signed the free agent forward, completing the latest move in an impressive haul this offseason. Kirilenko, who opted out of his deal with the Timberwolves that was scheduled to pocket him $10 million next season, accepted the Nets' mini midlevel exception of $3.18 million.
He inked a two-year...Read more »
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Not long after suggesting the Nets might not be able to reach a buyout agreement with Croatian sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic, Billy King admitted Wednesday the Nets have pulled the plug on trying to bring him over from Europe.
The Nets had agreed to a three-year deal with Bogdanovic last week, but were attempting to come to a settlement on a buyout with Istanbul-based Fenerbahce,...Read more »
ORLANDO, Fla. -- It happened often.
Whether it was Deron Williams trying to create off the dribble all by his lonesome or the Nets simply throwing the ball to Joe Johnson or Brook Lopez and watching them operate while everyone stood around, there wasn't a whole lot of movement within the Nets' offense during their inaugural season in Brooklyn.
Jason Kidd wants that to change and he plans...Read more »
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Frank Zanin and Matt Riccardi have been promoted.
Zanin has been elevated to an assistant general manager and Riccardi has been named the Nets' basketball operations manager, the team announced Monday. There were a few other tweaks among the basketball staff, with Sean Sweeney getting named video operations manager, Scott Sereday as a statistical analyst and Brennan Blair...Read more »
In his first game in the 2013 NBA Summer League, Nets first-round draft pick Mason Plumlee showed off some moves we didn't see from the forward at Duke.
Midway through the first quarter, Plumlee ran the floor, spun right to the paint and posterized the Detroit Pistons' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the No. 8 overall pick in this year's NBA draft.
Plumlee went on to pick up a double-double...Read more »
Bojan Bogdanovic will indeed be a member of the Nets next season.
The Nets have reached an agreement with Bogdanovic, according to a source. The deal is for three years, with the third reportedly being a player option.
A second-round pick whose rights were acquired from the Timberwolves during the 2011 draft, the 6-6 Bogdanovic played for Istanbul-based Fenerbahce the past two seasons....Read more »
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Jason Kidd wasn’t used to some of the little details that come along with being a head coach.
Like wearing that thing around his neck during practice, among other tasks.
“I guess holding the whistle might be the weirdest or the gameplan or the practice plan,” Kidd said Wednesday following the Nets’ summer league team practice at the PNY Center, Kidd’s first ever...Read more »
Mason Plumlee signed on the dotted line -- and just in time for the start of summer camp practice.
The Nets announced Wednesday that they've signed their first-round pick, selected No. 22 overall at last Thursday's draft. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In other news, according to ESPN, the Nets are no longer in the running for the free agent services of sharpshooter Kyle Korver....Read more »
