Brooklyn will take on the Hawks in a regular-season matchup Jan. 16 at the O2 Arena, the NBA announced Tuesday. The contest is part of the league's Global Games, another initiative to help promote the brand internationally.

The Nets announced Monday that their All-Star 7-foot center had a procedure done to replace a screw in his foot. Recently retired former Knick and Net Jason Kidd is pursuing the Nets' vacant coaching job, according to a Yahoo! Sports report.
The report says his candidacy for the job has been discussed with the highest levels of Brooklyn's brass. Kidd has discussed the opportunity with associates and has gone as far as to consider who he would appoint as members of his coaching staff, the report says.
