Turns out Deron Williams isn't then only member of the Nets' starting backcourt who's banged up.
Barely two hours after Williams revealed that Thursday's regularly-scheduled round of cortisone shots marked the third time he's had them this season -- the public thinking was he only had one round previously -- Billy King said Joe Johnson won't play versus the Rockets Friday night.

After being linked to a few names, which included the biggest fish in the trade pond, the Nets' roster will look exactly the same Friday as it did Thursday.
They didn't land Josh Smith or anyone else. In fact, no one picked up Smith, the Hawks forward who thought he might be shipped out of Atlanta.
Apparently, the Nets' reported package of Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first-round...Read more »
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- If there’s a list of players who are feeling a bit anxious with the trade deadline looming this week, MarShon Brooks’ name might be at the very top.
Although Kris Humphries’ two-year, $24-million contract that expires after next season makes him one of the Nets’ most likely assets to be moved in any deal, Brooks would likely be packaged with Humphries in a trade to...Read more »
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Billy King doesn’t think the Nets are going to be major players in the trade market over these nest two days before Thursday’s deadline.
The Nets have reportedly been linked to possibly acquiring Atlanta’s Josh Smith, Charlotte’s Ben Gordon or Utah’s Paul Millsap, but King suggested the chances are good that the Nets may sit this one out.
“I would put the likelihood...Read more »
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Keith Bogans didn't forget.
The Spurs really put it on the Nets when these teams met New Year's Eve in San Antonio, clobbering them 104-73 thanks to a second-half dismantling. So when the Nets meet the Spurs in Brooklyn Sunday night, tipping off the first of their last three games prior to next weekend's All-Star festivities, Bogans wants some revenge.
"These...Read more »
WASHINGTON -- When the Nets blew through the nation's capital a few weeks ago, just days before President Obama's second inauguration, they escaped with a wild double-overtime win, all thanks to Joe Johnson's game-winner.
And the Wizards didn't even have John Wall available that night.
But that won't be the case Friday night when they meet Washington again at the Verizon Center. Wall...Read more »
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- They don't want this losing thing to become a trend.
That's why the Nets feel Friday's matchup with the Bulls at the Barclays Center is the ultimate bounce back game after the way they were throttled by 20 points in Wednesday's nationally-televised loss to the Heat.
"This is big tonight," Joe Johnson said before the team's shootaround at the PNY Center....Read more »
Damion James is set for another tour of duty with the Nets.
The team announced Sunday morning that they've signed the small forward to a 10-day contract. James, who was playing for the NDBL's Bakersfield (Calif.) Jam, was with the Nets in 2010-11 and 2011-12. He'll fill the roster void left when the Nets waived Josh Childress late last month.
The Nets originally acquired James in a 2010...Read more »
“Y’all will hear the truth sooner or later,” the Nets' Andray Blatche said about a police investigation regarding an alleged sexual assault incident in his Philadelphia hotel room earlier this week. “When the time comes and I can talk about it, everybody will realize it’s not what you think.” Blatche spoke publicly about the matter for the first time after the team’s practice...Read more »
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Nobody saw that coming.
Or did they?
“Bog said before the game we were going to get a win,” Deron Williams said, referring to Keith Bogans, the guy with the locker directly next to his. “So we had to get a win. That’s all that was to it.
“Simple as that.”
If only it was that easy. But the Nets’ unexpected 110-93 triumph over the Thunder Wednesday night...Read more »
