Billy King: There's a 10 percent chance Nets make a trade

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Billy King doesn’t think the Nets are going to be major players in the trade market over these nest two days before Thursday’s deadline.

The Nets have reportedly been linked to possibly acquiring Atlanta’s Josh Smith, Charlotte’s Ben Gordon or Utah’s Paul Millsap, but King suggested the chances are good that the Nets may sit this one out.

Nets exercise MarShon Brooks' option

MarShon Brooks got some good news Friday, a day after making his preseason debut.

The Nets picked up the third-year team option on Brooks' rookie contract, the team announced prior to tip off of their preseason matchup with the Sixers at the Barclays Center. Brooks, who was nursing tendinitis in his right foot, is scheduled to make $1,210,080 in 2013-14.

Nets to play Sixers in Atlantic City in preseason opener

They're calling it the "Boardwalk Classic."

The Nets and Sixers are set to meet at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall in their Oct. 13 preseason matchup, Philadelphia announced at a press conference today. The location for the contest had been listed as TBA ever since the preseason schedules were released last week.
