EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Billy King isn’t wasting much time in his quest to find a new coach.

With Jason Kidd officially now in Milwaukee as the Bucks coach, the Nets general manager already began the replacement process, meeting with Lionel Hollins.

Andray Blatche officially opts out

Andray Blatche is officially about to hit the market.

The 6-11 big man has opted out of the final year of his two-year deal, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent, according to his agent Andy Miller. It's an expected move given Blatche, who was scheduled to pocket $1.43 million in base salary next season, said in May that he intended to test the free agent waters come July 1.

Josh Childress is officially the newest Net.

The team announced the signing of the 6-8 forward Thursday, giving them another versatile bench player who they hope will help in a variety of ways. The Nets, whose roster now stands at 15, view Childress as a backup to starting swingman Gerald Wallace and he fills the last void that Avery Johnson and GM Billy King wanted to plug.

Billy King continues to fill out the Brooklyn Nets' inaugural roster.

The Nets today announced they re-signed guard Keith Bogans, bringing him back into the fold after he only managed to play in five games with them in 2011-12 due to a season-ending ankle injury.

Bogans, a 6-5, 215-pounder and nine-year veteran, went down against the Pistons on Feb. 8.

Nets, Humphries agree on two-year deal

After an offseason of uncertainty, the Nets will reunite Kris Humphries with Brook Lopez in the starting frontcourt for the 2012-13 season.

WASHINGTON -- Avery Johnson said Friday that the Nets were still searching for a point guard to back up Deron Williams.

Looks like they've found their man.

The Nets signed C.J. Watson reportedly for two years at the veteran's minumum, and Watson is said to have a player option in the pact's second year. He was waived by the Bulls on Wednesday and drew interest from others.
