They signed free agents Stephen Dennis, James Mays, and Carleton Scott, moves that were announced Monday. All three players played overseas last season and will essentially serve as training camp bodies since the Nets' roster is technically already set at 15 with last week's addditions of Andray Blatche and Josh Childress.

It's official: The Nets are coming to Long Island for a night. And they're bringing the Knicks with them.
The Nets announced their preseason schedule Thursday, confirming an Aug. 3 Newsday report that the two New York teams would play a preseason game at Nassau Coliseum. The teams are scheduled to play each other on Oct. 24 in the Nets' preseason finale. The Nets will be the home team.

The free agent point guard announced his choice on Twitter just after 7 p.m., ending the Nets' lengthy courtship. Ever since they traded for him in February of last year, the Nets tried to sell Williams on the prospect of starting something new in Brooklyn and being the face of franchise.

Three months after waiving his early termination option and saying he wanted to remain in Orlando, Dwight Howard wants to be traded to the Nets by next Thursday, according to Yahoo! The report says Howard's desire is to come to Brooklyn so he can pair with Deron Williams.
