That was bad.

No, we’re not talking in that old school Michael Jackson kinda bad.

Up 22 points in the third quarter of second game of the season. At home. Against a team that was missing two of its best players.

And the Nets couldn’t close it out.

That was a brutal and they can only hope Monday night’s 107-96 loss to the Timberwolves at the Barclays Center doesn’t carry over...

The Nets won’t be at full strength when they host Minnesota at the Barclays Center Monday night.

Gerald Wallace’s sprained left ankle hasn’t sufficiently healed and the veteran swingman isn’t going to play against the Timberwolves. Keith Bogans will start in his place.

Wallace injured himself in the closing minute of Saturday night’s 107-100 win over the Raptors, rolling his ankle on...

Deron Williams wants to open the Barclays Center with a bang Saturday night -- and a victory.

Gerald Wallace summed the Nets' feelings up rather easily.

"It feels like we haven’t played in two months," the swingman said following Friday's practice at the Barclays Center. "We are anxious to get out on the court and just play against somebody other than ourselves."

Due to the effects of superstorm Sandy, the Nets' opener scheduled for Thursday at the Barclays...

We now have a new date for the first matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Knicks.

The NBA announced Thursday night that the game will be played Nov. 26, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m. on TNT. That's not necessarily a good thing for the Nets, given that will wind up being their third game in a four-night span.

The Nets host the Clippers on Nov. 23 on the heels of their three-game...

The Nets practiced on Sunday rather than Monday, switching their scheduled off days with hopes they'd get the opportunity to hit the court again Tuesday in Hurricane Sandy's aftermath.

No such luck, though.

They've canceled Tuesday's practice in part due to the conditions -- downed trees, flooded streets and broken power lines -- and were tentatively still schedule to practice Wednesday...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- If Avery Johnson wasn't initially aware of the back-and-forth that goes on between Nets and Knicks fans, he sure is now.

"I’ve been asked about this quote-unquote rivalry in the last four to five months more than I had my first two years," the Nets' third-year coach said following practice Tuesday at the PNY Center "So, I feel it. I feel it more when...

Doc Rivers knows a thing or two about pro basketball in this city, given his two-year stint with the Knicks during the 1990s.

Even he could never imagine in his wildest dreams that the Nets would not only move into the city, but become this chic team that's garnering lots of attention.

"No, I didn’t," the Celtics coach said before tonight's game when I asked him what he thought...

MarShon Brooks might make his preseason debut tonight.

The second-year shooting guard hasn’t played in the Nets’ first three preseason games as he dealt with some tendinitis in his right foot. But Brooks will be a game-time decision when the Nets meet the Celtics in their nationally-televised preseason matchup at the Barclays Center.
