Deron Williams' ankle feeling better, expects to practice Sunday

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Deron Williams proclaimed his left ankle is feeling just fine and the All-Star point guard plans to practice Sunday.
Williams, who's been diagnosed with synovitis, missed his second straight practice Saturday, as expected. But he said the cortisone shot he received Thursday has worked wonders and he can already sense a noticeable difference.

MarShon Brooks got some good news Friday, a day after making his preseason debut.
The Nets picked up the third-year team option on Brooks' rookie contract, the team announced prior to tip off of their preseason matchup with the Sixers at the Barclays Center. Brooks, who was nursing tendinitis in his right foot, is scheduled to make $1,210,080 in 2013-14.
