Carmelo Anthony voted All-Star starter

Carmelo Anthony was voted to start for the Eastern Conference in the Feb. 26 All-Star Game in Orlando.

Amar'e Stoudemire needs the coaches to put him on the team.

Anthony finished second among East forwards behind Miami’s LeBron James with 1,041,290 votes. Stoudemire was a distant third, 657,556 votes behind Anthony.

It's Anthony's third straight start and fourth overall. The fans...

The Knicks held a light, non-contact practice today in preparation for the back-to-back-to-back that begins tomorrow night - and almost everyone participated.

Coach Mike D’Antoni said Amar’e Stoudemire went through the walk-through before getting treatment on his sprained right ankle that he sustained in a “freak accident” right before the start of the third quarter of last night’s 113-86...

After going through a pregame workout, Carmelo Anthony decided he felt well enough to play.

Anthony returns after missing the prior two games with hand and foot injuries. His right ankle has been the most bothersome lately, but apparently it felt well enough for him to come back to face the Pistons.

Anthony has been mired in an awful shooting slump, as he shot 40-for-126 in his last...

Carmelo Anthony went through a workout this morning and is a game-time decision tonight against the Pistons.

“He was cutting more,” coach Mike D’Antoni said. “He said he felt pretty good. He’s getting real close. He wanted to go out before the game and try and if it feels good he’ll do it. If not, one or two more days.”

Meanwhile, Baron Davis is out tonight and perhaps until next week.

Anthony,...

Back home, Knicks hope to get back to winning

Amar'e Stoudemire celebrates a basket against the Charlotte

At this stage of the season and after all the losing, this is a big week for the Knicks and could be for Mike D’Antoni.

The Knicks have lost nine-of-10 games, and have showed very little sense of urgency. It’s not what you expected from a team with championship expectations.

That’s what makes this is a big week and why D’Antoni could be feeling the heat more than ever in New York if...

Toney Douglas starting vs. Heat

With Carmelo Anthony out against the Heat due to his various injuries, coach Mike D’Antoni decided to start Toney Douglas and move Iman Shumpert to shooting guard and Landry Fields to small forward.

D’Antoni said he went with Douglas to try and get more scoring.

“We just want more playmaking on the floor,” D’Antoni said. “We’re just trying to find ways to be able to make shots and get...

Doing it again - and again - will be the Knicks' next step

The rest of the trip will be telltale for the Knicks.

Sure, they looked good last night in crushing the Bobcats by 33 points on a night when Carmelo Anthony didn’t make a basket and scored just one point.

It was against arguably the worst team in the league, but you don’t want to take anything away from the Knicks performance because they played with the passion and urgency and selflessness...

Baron Davis closer to Knicks' debut

Mike D’Antoni said Baron Davis didn’t have any “ill effects” after going through his first practice yesterday and was going to take part in a 3-on-3 after today’s shootaround.

We’ll get an update before the game, but Davis won’t play tonight against the Bobcats. D’Antoni said the earliest Davis could – COULD – play is tomorrow at Cleveland.

“It could be tomorrow,” D’Antoni said. “That...
