Knicks-Nets games are spread out this year

Spreading out the Knicks-Nets games should lead to some intense and potentially important late-season meetings, unlike last season, when they played three times in 24 days and were done with each other on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Basketball greats Walt Frazier, Nate Archibald and John Starks hit the links on Tuesday at a golf fundraiser to fight cancer hosted by Joe Cairo at Lido Golf Course. They also did some talking. Gregg Popovich always has been a big fan of Jason Kidd. He tried to get him to sign with the Spurs in 2003, a short time after San Antonio beat Kidd’s Nets in the Finals.

Carmelo Anthony was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week, but his coach missed out on East Coach of the Month.

Mike Woodson finished behind the Nets' Avery Johnson for the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for November.
