The only thing Paulie Malignaggi wanted was a fair shake from the judges.

He didn't get it the first time he fought Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz in Houston on August 22. But he certainly got it on Saturday night as he scored a unanimous-decision victory over Diaz at the UIC Pavillion in Chicago.

Malignaggi (28-3, 5 KOs) didn't really need any help from the judges as he dominated the fight from start to finish. All three judges scored the bout 116-111.

He cut Diaz in the second round, stunned him again in the sixth and scored a knockdown (that really wasn't a knockdown) in the 10th round. We wrote in an earlier post that Malignaggi needed a win to keep himself in the mix for any big-money fights.

Well, he won in dominating fashion and now can look for some more high-profile bouts in the 140-pound division.  A possible rematch with Ricky Hatton? It wouldn't be a shock if the two mixed it up again. A possible match against Juan Manuel Marquez wouldn't out of the realm either. But that could be just wishful thinking.
